Conflicted!

Ok, so I've officially decided the universe does not want me to own a pair of flat black leather boots. I posted previously how I had gotten a pair of Enzo Angiolini boots and they started to rip in half. So, I return them and patiently tried to hold on to my Nordstrom gift card to buy a new pair. Well, when I was home on Easter break, I spotted a pair of Steve Madden boots with a chunky zipper up the back that I loved, and they were on sale!

I was sold!... Until the pair I tried on was completely ripping inside. I gave the boots the benefit of the doubt and had them order me another pair. I just received the boots today and guess what. Yup, they are also ripped. Ugh! So here's to more bad luck with ripped boots.

For the time being I have officially given up on finding another replacement pair of boots, since the weather has been beautiful and 80 degrees the last two days, so onto other things. And now here is where my dilemma falls.

I want a good, secure closure, small bag to bring with me to Spain. I am becoming petrified of people telling me about horrendous pick pocketers! I would love to use the Nordstrom gift card from the boots to buy the bag so I don't have to shell out any other money from my pocket to get it. I found two bags that I love.

The first

Michael Kors Charlton - $138

The second

Rebecca Minkoff Mini M.A.C. - $198

The first fits within my gift card budget. Great. But then ShopBop throws a wrench in my plans and has its 20% off sale and the M.A.C. is included and brings it right into my budget, only I can't order it from ShopBop with my Nordstrom gift card and I wasn't really looking to pay out of my pocket for it. To make matters worse, I tell my friend, and she tells me she can get me the M.A.C. 50% from the boutique she works at! How could I possibly be tempted any more!? I am so conflicted with which bag to go with. I guess I'll have to try both on next time I go to the mall to return the black devil boots! Who knew shopping was so difficult?

Which bag would you choose?
And can please anyone tell me where to get some good boots that won't rip!!

P.S. I was distracted from the horrid boots by the fact that when I went to get the package, I was surprised by 2. The second was the J.Crew leopard iPhone case that I had been wishing for. Andrew sent it to me as a surprise. So sweet!

Bootless

For Christmas I got the Enzo Angiolini "Zayra" Boot in black from Nordstrom.
My mom bought them for me during the Half-Yearly Sale which is actually the price that they're still on sale for now. I thought it was a good price for a good boot. Barely two months into wearing the boots, one starting to tear at the back above the heel. As I looked closer at the boots, I noticed a seam going all the way around. It's like the boot was made from two separate pieces and glued together so that it's just asking to come apart in that spot.

I took the boots back to Nordstrom and said that I didn't even want another pair of them because I knew it was just bound to happen again. Apparently I picked the wrong saleswoman to talk to about this. Don't get me wrong I LOVE Nordstrom and if I have the option of where to buy something I usually always pick Nordstrom to purchase it because of their excellent customer service. However, once in a while you get the salesperson that makes you feel like you're inconveniencing them for asking them to do their job. So finally after I got my boots returned through sighs and grunting that she was missing out on commission by helping me with my return, she told me she had no other boots to show me? I left the store and now I have no black leather boots. Not a happy camper. Does anyone know any good leather boots for a good price right now? I need to find a new pair I like soon or I am going to be tempted to buy new Spring sandals or something with the money and I know I need the boots more! Someone help!
